Suttons Seed Turnip Golden Ball is a delightful addition to your garden that brings forth dwarf, compact plants yielding round roots with tender yellow flesh. Known for their hardiness and exceptional keeping qualities, these turnips are ideal for both storage and exhibition.

Key Features:

-Compact and Dwarf: The plants are dwarf and compact, making them well-suited for various garden spaces.

-Golden Flesh: Enjoy the tender and flavourful yellow flesh of the round roots. Hardy and Long-Lasting: Very hardy with outstanding keeping qualities, ensuring a bountiful harvest for storage and exhibition.

-Versatile Use: Excellent for both culinary endeavours and exhibition purposes.

Growing Information:

-Sowing Period: Sow outdoors from May to July. For Turnip tops, sow in August, scattering seeds thinly and evenly on prepared soil, and rake in lightly. (6-10 weeks maturity.)

-Direct Sowing: Sow thinly directly into finely raked, warm, moist soil at a depth of 13mm (1/2") in rows about 30cm (12") apart. Expect germination in 6-10 days. Thin seedlings to 10cm (4") between plants.

-Thinning Tips: Utilize thinning as tasty 'turnip tops' for mixed salads or steam as a delicious vegetable.

-Soil Preferences: Grow best in well-cultivated soil containing some lime. Ensure adequate watering, especially during dry weather.

-Storage Recommendations: Excellent for autumn/winter storage. Twist off tops and store the turnips in boxes filled with sand or soil in a garage or shed.
