The Virginia Show 2019

The 78th Virginia Agricultural show is to take place on Wednesday 21 August.

The Virginia Show attracts the masses to Cavan every year. With an all-encompassing range of attractions including trade stands, live entertainment, artisan food stands, sheep shearing demonstrations, dog agility competitions and children’s entertainment, it is the definitive lifestyle event.

Once again, the Diageo Baileys Champion Dairy Cow Competition is one of the main highlights of the show. Title sponsor Diageo, the makers of Baileys Irish Cream, has been running the competition in conjunction with its cream supplier Glanbia Ingredients Ireland. The event has become fondly known as the 'All-Ireland for Dairy Cows' because it consistently attracts the top cows from across the country and, unlike other shows, exhibits all classes together for a final line-up selection by the judge for one to be crowned Champion.
