Glanbians from across the globe are getting ready to turn the globe pink for Breast Cancer research

Following the incredible success of last year’s virtual event, The Great Pink Run with Glanbia is getting ready to kick off once again in a virtual capacity, and is inviting people from across the globe to take part in the race for the worthy cause.

Last year’s event raised a record breaking €1 million in essential funding for vital breast cancer research. This year, the run will once again take place in the parks, neighbourhoods and communities across the world over the weekend of 16th & 17th October 2021.

The aim of the event is to turn the globe pink, with participants being encouraged to run, walk, jog (or even scoot!) the circumference of the globe (40,700km) over the course of the event weekend, and to log their distance, supporting Breast Cancer Ireland’s pioneering research and awareness programmes nationally on www.greatpinkrun.ie

The now global event which saw participants from over 10 countries participate last year, is an entirely inclusive initiative, aimed at casual strollers, keen walkers, joggers and seasoned runners alike and is open to families, groups and solo participants, who are encouraged to log either 5k, or 10k (or more!) over the course of the event.

So get your trainers on and register today on www.greatpinkrun.ie to join in the Pink Army – sign up, get fit, make a difference!
