There was great excitement at the Glanbia Ireland stand at this year’s Ploughing Championships, when a presentation was made to Breast Cancer Ireland, among customers, suppliers and RTÉ television crews.

More than €35,000 has now been raised from Glanbia’s #PinkBales campaign for Breast Cancer Ireland BCI, with €10,000 of this being donated at the Ploughing Championships this year.

For the presentation of the €10,000 to BCI, Glanbia Chairman Martin Keane was joined by James Byrne of Glanbia Agribusiness. The cheque was received on behalf of Breast Cancer Ireland by Edel Reilly. We were also joined by cancer survivor and BCI ambassador Teresa Costello.

Moving Moments

BCI ambassador and cancer survivor, Teresa Costello shared her poignant testimony with fellow survivor and RTÉ presenter Áine Lawlor.

She detailed her five year journey after her diagnosis and reiterated the importance of being breast aware for both women and men.

Commenting on the initiative, CEO of Breast Cancer Ireland Aisling Hurley, said, “I’d like to thank the farming community for getting behind the #PinkBales campaign. We greatly value the PinkBale campaign as it highlights and makes people more aware of the importance of taking their breast health seriously.”

“We want to say a huge thank you to our farming community for their tremendous support of our #PinkBales campaign,” said Glanbia’s Retail Marketing Manager, James Byrne. “We are delighted that our continued partnership with Breast Cancer Ireland supports their pioneering research and raising awareness of good breast health amongst women, and men, of all ages.”

Bale Pink

That’s the message for farmers around the country as Glanbia Ireland Agri returned with its successful #PinkBales campaign in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland through sales of a special edition pink Mastercrop Agristretch silage wrap. Farmers around Ireland were encouraged to get behind the worthy cause. For every roll of the limited-edition pink Mastercrop Agristretch silage wrap purchased across all Glanbia Ireland Agri and CountryLife branches as well as online on GlanbiaConnect.com, donations were made to Breast Cancer Ireland.

For any late season needs, the pink wrap is still available from all Glanbia Agribusiness branches and online at GlanbiaConnect.com.

Supporters can also donate to the campaign by buying a Breast Cancer Ireland €2 trolley token key ring or pin, available through all of Glanbia’s 53 branches.
