Glanbia CountryLife Branches and Garden Centres Reopen

‘Call and Collect’ service will continue across the full network of Glanbia Ireland Agribusiness branches.

Glanbia Ireland’s network of 14 award-winning CountryLife Branches and Garden Centres will reopen with a series of key measures in place to maintain social distancing and prioritise health and safety.

The new ‘call and collect’ system has been performing strongly across the network of Agribusiness branches thanks to the support of all employees and customers.

The call and collect model will remain in place across all 52 branches, with the 14 CountryLife Branches and Garden Centres open to customers to enter with strict new operational procedures in place.

Senan Foley, Head of Retail, said: “As part of the national effort to contain Covid-19 we moved at an early stage to ask our customers to phone ahead to branches before calling to collect their orders. We also took the decision to temporarily suspend our Garden Centres.

“This strong preventative step has worked well to safeguard our dedicated staff, our customers and protect our vital service for the farming community. We sincerely thank all of our loyal customers for working with us.

“In line with the government’s phased reopening plan, our CountryLife Branches and Garden Centres will on Monday 18th open their doors to our customers with a series of measures in place to continue to protect our staff and our customers. A significant level of work has been completed by our teams to assess and develop new ways of operating in the retail environment to protect our vital services. Thank you in advance for working with us as we move to this next step.”

New operating procedures and strict hygiene measures will be in place at the 14 CountryLife Branches and Garden Centres, including:

• A controlled access process to limit numbers of shoppers permitted at the same time;
• Customers asked to shop alone to help minimise numbers in stores;
• A designated queuing area outside the stores with 2 metre social distancing spacing marked;
• A station for hand and trolley sanitising will be provided;
• Perspex screens installed at all counters and cashless payments encouraged.

It is vitally important that customers follow social distancing and adhere to all procedures clearly outlined in order for stores to continue to provide essential products with the utmost safety to all.
