About Glanbia Ingredients Ireland
Glanbia Ingredients Ireland (GII) is Ireland’s largest dairy processor and one of the world’s leading dairy companies.
At its core, GII holds a progressive Co-op approach to supporting our milk suppliers. The company is 60% owned by Glanbia Co-op and 40% owned by Glanbia Plc and our 4,800 milk suppliers are at the heart of our business.
With the abolition of milk quotas this year, we are now truly on the cusp of an exciting new era of dairy expansion. These changes will bring immense opportunities –not only for milk suppliers but for all Glanbia farmers.
Naturally, there will also be challenges, not least the current dairy market volatility, but Glanbia as a group is well positioned to address these developments.
For instance, GII is the only milk processor in the country that offers a three-year fixed price deal with farmers. We also offer our suppliers access to a milk price stability fund, advisory support services and the possibility of Co-op patronage bonuses.
GII is also unique in that it does not require supplier contribution to fund its dairy expansion. New entrants are also given the opportunity to apply to become shareholders in Glanbia Co-op.
Commercially GII is a powerful combination of Irish product and global enterprise.

Customers want, and trust, our food because they know the ingredients are sustainable and traceable. That’s a major reassurance; and of real value.
Through our collaborative approach with customers we have forged fruitful and lasting relationships. It involves research-and-development and our unique price volatility schemes.
These relationships will deliver solid growth opportunities for us over the years ahead.
We have also invested significantly - up to €200 million - in preparation for the abolition of quotas.
Our Belview plant in Co Waterford opened in March 2015. This is a high-spec’ facility which will deliver specialised dairy ingredients to the infant and adult nutrition industries.
We also have a new butter facility in Ballyragget, Co Kilkenny coming on stream and a new milk protein plant in Virginia, Co Cavan has just opened to deliver next-generation milk protein to the clinical and performance nutrition industries.
By combining our strengths with those of our farmers we are progressing all the time.
It is our job to continue building on our collective success.
