Vice-Chairpersons

Tirlán Co-operative Society Limited has confirmed that Wexford farmer John G. Murphy has been re-appointed as Chairperson for a further two-year term.

Gerard O’Brien from County Waterford and Thomas Phelan from County Laois have been appointed to the two Vice-Chairperson positions.

Pat Murphy (Vice-Chairperson) and Patrick Whyte retired as Directors from the Board of the Co-op at this week’s AGM. James O’Brien from County Kilkenny and James Finn from County Tipperary were appointed to the Co-op Board as a result of the vacancies arising.

John G. Murphy – Chairperson Biography

Chairperson John G. Murphy was appointed to the Board on 29 June 2010 and to the position of Vice-Chairperson on 2 June 2017. He was first appointed Chairperson on 8 October 2020. He has completed a Diploma in Corporate Direction from University College Cork. John farms at Ballinacoola, Craanford, Gorey, Co Wexford.

 

Gerard O’Brien – Vice-Chairperson Biography

Ger O’Brien was appointed to the Board on 1 June 2018. He has completed a Diploma in Corporate Direction from University College Cork. Ger farms at Camphire, Cappoquin, Co. Waterford.

 

Thomas Phelan – Vice-Chairperson Biography

Tom Phelan was appointed to the Board on 4 June 2021 and farms at Pike of Rushall, Portlaoise, Co. Laois.
